As announced over a week ago I received my Sigelei Chronus Kit all the way from sunny China courtesy of AliExpress. I got my kit for what I thought was a bargain of £12, the seller being vapekings store. Looking on AliExpress vapeking dont have it in stock and the cheapest it is going for on there is £12.61 from other stores (click here to view the cheapest deal on AliExpress). I didnt notice that this kit was also on sale with Ecigone.co.uk, they are selling it for £14.99. Had I known this at the time I would have got it from Ecigone as I have used them before. I ordered this after watching a few youtube reviews and the fact it was only £12 for a 200W mod, yes you may notice I didn’t say tank. Being a skint vaper I like my vaping costs to be low so I got out of the stock coil game a while ago and vape solely on rebuildables now so I had very little interest in the stock coil tank that came with this kit.
All of the reviews I watched were mostly positive so I paid my money and awaited my new kit. I was pleasantly surprised to receive my kit in less than 2 week especially with everything that is going on over in china just now.
I loved the display and the overall feel of this mod in my hand was nice. I went for the gunmetal colour which look good with both my black and silver tanks, I dont own any other colour of tank but I’m guessing a gunmetal tank would look perfect on the top of this. I fired in a couple of 18650’s and fired her up, wow I was impressed. This mod reacts instantly when hitting that fire button and the batteries last longer than I expected with that nice big round display, in fact the batteries do better in this than they do in my Aegis Legend.
The menu system in this mod is pretty straight forward. You operate the wattage and menu system via the nice little control stick on the front. click left to view your battery levels and click right to adjust screen brightness. Hold it in to access the menu which has your temperature control, wattage control as well as a setting that will allow you to switch between to screen displays.
When you power on the mod for the first time you will be hit with a password screen comprising of 4 digits. If like me you have never seen that on a mod before you will omit a small “wtf?” at this point before exhaling a further “why?”. I tried just jumping right in thinking the default password would be 0000, it not! Dont worry though if you get it wrong as it gives you as many chances as you want. The default password is 8888 for those of you that cant be arsed reading the manual.
Now they call this a child lock so that your child or someone else’s child cannot access the mod when it is turned off. Personally I have lived without a child lock on my mods for this long and I just found it to be an annoyance whenever I changed the batteries. Don’t get me wrong, if you have a teenager that is constantly stealing your vape or you hate the idea of anyone else putting their lips on your drip tip then this could be great for you and it certainly isn’t a deal breaker for me at the bargain price I bought it at. Another thing that isnt a deal breaker but is absolutely terrible with this kit, the tank…..
This tank actually looks good and slamming a coil in there my initial thoughts were hmmmm not a bad tank at all. You get 2 coils with your tank, one is mesh the other isnt, both are 0.2ohms. I installed the non mesh coil first and as I say I was quite impressed, the flavour was nice and strong. A day later and the coil was burnt out, I do use desert flavours which can have a heavier toll on my coils but a day is shit. I then put the mesh coil into the tank and the flavour was no where near as good as the first coil. After using the tank with the mesh coil for a couple of hours I took it off and stored it away. When taking the photos tonight for this review I retrieved the Shikra tank and found my storage shelf flooded with eliquid, this shit tank has leaked all over the place. At the end of the day I didn’t get this kit for the tank and I am more than happy with the mod so I will happily drop this tank into the bin at the earliest opportunity.
Overall if you are paying between £12 and £15 for this kit then you are getting a great mod that does an amazing job. This mod is easily worth £50 to £60 and Ecigone have it reduced from £49.99 so if you are looking for a nice looking reliable mod I can easily recommend this.
